San Miguel house
concept visualizationA courtyard house in the hot climate of Honda: white arched galleries, lattice walls, terracotta floors and a pool that mirrors the arcade.
A courtyard of arches and water in Honda.
A courtyard house in the hot climate of the Magdalena valley. The white arched galleries cast deep shade on the inner façades; lime screens keep ventilation and privacy, and the plank floor carries on the language of the traditional house. The pool fills the courtyard, cools the air and doubles the arcade in its reflection.

The arch on the water
The arch reflects on the water, concentrating the relationship between the white gallery and the courtyard pool.
The pool at night
The pool at night returns to the arcade from the water, contrasting the courtyard’s presence under different lighting.
At night
The night view extends the record of the courtyard house, complementing the relationship between galleries, arches and water.
The corridor and the lattice
The corridor and screen present another filter within the house, complementing the open arches around the courtyard.
The palm courtyard
The palm courtyard closes the sequence in an open space where planting participates in the domestic composition.
Arched gallery
The arched gallery presents the covered route around the courtyard, bringing the reading closer to the scale of movement.
The change of level
Terracotta treads and patterned risers connect two levels beneath the arch. Planters accompany the route and bring greenery close to the passage.
The arch with jasmine
Jasmine accompanies the arch, adding a planted reading to the meeting of the covered gallery and open courtyard.
Arch, lantern and planting
This close view brings together the white arch, ochre wall and lantern among branches. Planting crosses the threshold and softens the meeting of surfaces and colours.
The window and its cornice
The window and cornice change the sequence’s scale, moving from courtyard organisation to a specific element of the façade.
